Tax Manager or Senior Tax Manager

The Tax Manager or Senior Tax Manager is responsible for reviewing and supervising complex tax returns, providing advisory services to clients, and leading and managing multiple tax engagements and client services. The title of Tax Manager or Senior Tax Manager will be determined based on the hired CPA’s experience.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or other relevant field
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license in good standing for at least two years (EA will also be considered)
  • Minimum four years experience in CPA firm
  • Two years experience with reviewing business tax returns and providing tax planning services
  • Four years of experience preparing complex partnership, S Corp, corporate, and individual returns
  • Experience with preparing tax projections and consulting with clients
  • Ability to offer creative and often complex tax savings opportunities
  • Strong tax research skills, ability to interpret tax laws, and experience communicating it to clients
  • Experience with multi-state tax returns
  • Exceptional computer skills
  • Strong knowledge of accounting entries and principles
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and efficient with strong time management skills and multi-tasking capabilities
  • Comfortable working in a paperless environment
  • Ability to work independently and proactively
  • Excellent spoken and written communication skills
  • Well-developed professional interpersonal skills
  • Ability to effectively manage client relationships



  • Build new, and maintain existing, client relationships
  • Effectively and efficiently review business and personal tax returns
  • Accurately run tax projections under several scenarios and various states
  • Advise business owners and individuals regarding tax code, considering tax-saving opportunities
  • Research tax and accounting topics, assist firm in staying on top all of upcoming tax law changes
  • Effectively communication with IRS and state tax agencies on clients’ behalf
  • Manage and coordinate federal and state tax audits on behalf of clients
  • Regularly communicate with clients
  • Advise clients on emerging tax law changes
  • Improve firm processes by developing and implementing new best practices
  • Train staff, review and evaluate staff work
  • Serve as a tax and accounting resource for firm staff
  • Assist in driving the growth of the firm, regularly suggest improvements and new client service offerings
  • Actively participate in business development activities
